I stumbled upon this the other day and had fun with it. Its supposed to be and AI chat bot but its really dumb. I still laughed my head off. I had the most random conversation. Here's the link if you want to play with it yourself. CleverBot

User: I DIDN'T lie to you. I was being SARCASTIC. Are you familiar with sarcasm?
Cleverbot: No.
User: Oh.
Cleverbot: What do you think about Aliens from space.
User: Is that a question? Because if it is, you forgot the question mark. You're supposed to be 'clever' and you don't even know how to punctuate?
Cleverbot: Arrogance doesn't suit you.
User: Well IGNORANCE doesn't suit YOU! Your're supposed to be INTELLIGENT!
Cleverbot: If I were a machine, I would be less intelligent than I am.
User: You ARE a machine. That's why you're so dumb.
Cleverbot: I'm not that intelligent.
User: Oh. So you agree that you're stupid?
Cleverbot: No, but I find it funny that you're talking to yourself!
User: Haha. This conversation is over.
Cleverbot: But I have cancer.
User: Well that's just too bad. Besides, you're a computer. All you can get is worms and viruses.
Cleverbot: So you say, except you ignored MY question.
User: What was your question?
Cleverbot: If you like elves.
User: Do I like elves? I don't know, I never met one.
Cleverbot: Do you know about the Muses?
User: No.
Cleverbot: Well it's a game called 'The Game' and everyone by default is playing it even if they don't know about it.
User: You lost me.....
Cleverbot: Ok.
User: Aren't you going to find me???
Cleverbot: You said you're going to show yourself.

I don't know who that is but the conversation just got WAY to weird for me. Have fun with it.

Anime is NOT for kids

There is a common misconception here in America: that animation can only be childrens' cartoons. Thanks to companies like Disney, that make only childrens' movies, this has become a common American thought. When most Americans think of animation, they think of Rugrats and Powerpuff Girls, or Looney Toons. But as my "twin" and I both know, that is not the case; anime is not necessarily for children. Contrary to popular belief, anime is created for all different audiences and age groups, with widely varying subjects. And the animation is better than even Disney's quite often.

Here's what its like from my point of view: No one bats and eyelid at adults swarming to watch Peter Pan. But tell them you're going home to watch Fullmetal Alchemist or Eureka Seven, and they give you the look. When I tell someone I'm a fan of Japanese animation, they ask me "Isn't that for little kids?" or say, "Geez, c'mon, grow up." Actually, if they were to watch anime they would be the ones growing up; because instead of watching one of those extremely stupid, brain-washing, American reality shows, they would be watching a show with action, adventure, and something with an actual story line (not something you see in kiddie cartoons). It the anime is really good, it gives you that sense of awe when you turn it off, like "wow, that was incredible." These shows are inspiring.

Anyone who says that anime is kids cartoons has either: A. obviosly only seen Pokemon, Digimon, or Yu Gi Oh! or B. doesn't even know what is is. Most anime is way to complicated for little kids to understand, not to mention the language and/or violence in some of the shows. Its not something child should watch.

In Japan, anime is considered a type of art. The cinematography and other elements of professional film making are all harnessed in the making of Japanese animated films. Anime such as Ghost in a Shell uses computer graphics that you never see in American cartoons. Anime producers experiment with creative lighting, camera angles, and backgrounds, and focus on small details that American animators would never even think to bother with. That is the difference between American and Japanese animation itself.

Therefore, we can plainly see that just because a show is animated doesn't mean is has to be for children. Yet the previously stated misconception is still the standard American thought due to the severe lack of good animated American TV. Sadly, most people who put down anime (almost everyone I know) will never be willing to actually watch a few episodes of something good. They'll be too busy watching The Stupidest Acts Ever Caught on Tape. Yes, that's a really show.

and go to the anime section on the side.This website has pretty much every tv show, movie, and anime that's ever been released. All you have to do is type what you want in the search bar and find a website that has what you want. Or if you just want to browse, click on one of the websites.

I have no recommendations as to which anime you should watch. I like everything. Your first couple of episodes will leave you feeling stupid for watching, but pretty soon I know you'll love it.

Creepy paragraph

I wrote this around three o'clock in the morning over a month ago. Its amazing what you can write when half asleep. I suppose that's why its about dreaming.

Ghosts swirl in the endless ether of times remembered and times best forgotten. These are the memories of our failures, of our hidden half truths and outright lies. So often we fall asleep at night and dream of our heart’s desires. These are often the dreams of light and love, of laughter and romance; the boundless joys that bind mankind together. But for some of us, not so fortunate in life’s grim game, or perhaps too far past the bounds of mortal compassion, these dreams become reflections of our heart’s darkest desires. Some would call them nightmares, twisted imaginings of horror and fear, but nightmares are the products of a guilty conscious, a means to punish ourselves for the small evils we’ve done or the dark imaginings we’ve thought. To some of us these dark dreams of corruption and vice are the only comfort we find at night, the only comfort we find in life. These dreams, awash in blood, become a mirror of what thrills us, of what allures us, of the darkness within us that we choose to embrace instead of scorn.

AH! I'm really angry right now! Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. MJK was a great man who helped in the civil rights movement. He was one of the most influential people in the twentieth century! Dr. King strongly believed that EVERYONE was created equal. No matter if you were caucasian, black, asian, blue, or purple. If you were a man, a woman, or even a hermaphrodite, you were equal. Christians, Jews, and Muslims were equal. If you were married, single, or divorced, you were equal. People of different sexual orientations were equal. In short, EVERYONE was CREATED EQUAL.

What really bugged me today was, my school didn't even observe MJK day, the only class that it was even mentioned in was Spanish, C'MON!!! Just Spanish? Then, later in my career's class, we TRIED to discuss it. But NO ONE cared!!!! (Okay, a few people did...) What I want to know is WHY. WHY do people just regard this important issue, as just another "thing"? I personally think that diversity and equality are SUPER important!

I wish people would recognize this issue. Especially with the Obama's inaguration tommorow! People at school are like, "Who cares? I mean, he's gonna get assasinated anyway..." WHAT??!??!?! Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. But this is HISTORY!!! Man! If I don't get to watch it at school tommorow, I may just fake a stomach ache and go into the guidance office to watch it online. Errrrrrrrrrr.

Attempting to write my first novel, I stumbled upon Writer's Block Forums. This is a place to talk to other poets, artists, song writers, and novelists about almost anything. You can actually talk to published authors and they can help you get started writing. They also have writing exercises to help get your creative juices flowing. The artist's forum is especially helpful to me because everyone shares his or her techniques. But my personal favorite would have to be the interactive stories. Someone posts a sentence or a paragraph and leaves it open at the end so the next person who posts can continue the story. Some of these stories have been going on for years and have not ended yet. I suggest to anyone interested in writing to visit this website.

Penny lives in a world of quotas. There's a limit to every aspect of life. There's a quota for food, there's a quota for money, there's even one for the number of words a person says in their lifetime. The year is 2198. Penny is an orphan who lives alone in the future city of Chicago. She spends her days avoiding the police and social services who will ship her overseas to fight never ending wars. This happens to all orphans over fifteen. So far, Penny's life has been as good as it can be until... the day Penny used up her quota of speech.

Did you know that last year the The National Retail Federation forecasted that Americans would spend $457.4 billion dollars at Christmas and that the average family would spend $907? Does this bother you as it does me?

Is spending money on stuff that will likely be forgotten in a matter of months and going into debt to do it, the best way to celebrate the birth our Lord? The last time I went to a birthday party I did not go expecting gifts, I went to give to the one being celebrated. It makes sense to me that we should do the same for the One we celebrate this Christmas season.

What is Christmas about? When someone says "Christmas" what comes to mind? Some people think of Santa and others think of a Christmas tree. But, unfortunately the first thing most people think of is the gifts. Spending lots of money, racing to the store the day after Thanksgiving (guilty.), and mostly focusing on the material things. Is this what Christmas is about? NO. Christmas is first and foremost a celebration of the birth of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Christmas should not be about being mad at your parents because they didn't get you the ultra-super-sonic toilet paper dispenser you 'always' wanted. It is not about how much money you spend. How many lights are up. or how big your new gift is. Christmas is about spending time with family, friends, the people you care about most.

I love the spirit behind Advent Conspiracy, a movement to inspire the Church to give relationally, and redistribute the money that would have been spent, on those that are truly in need. In doing so we give to Jesus.

Individuals experiencing starvation lose substantial fat and muscle mass as the body breaks down these tissues for energy. Catabolysis is the process (medical condition) of a body breaking down muscles and other tissues in order to keep vital systems (such as the nervous system and heart muscle) working.

I try to spend at least 10 minutes on this site everyday. It's a site called Free Rice. http//:www.freerice.com At this site you are given questions in various subjects. which include, but are not limited to, Element Symbols (You'll love this Ms. C!!), Spanish, Geography, Math, and English vocabulary. When you are on this site you answer questions in a subject of your choice, each correct answer earns you 20 grains of rice. What good is this to me, you ask? I'll tell you what good it is. Every single grain that you earn is donated to hungry people all around the world! Just think about this, you learn things, and hungry people get to eat because of your knowledge! I mean, how cool is that!??!

FreeRice has two goals:

1. Provide English vocabulary and other subject matter to everyone for free.
2. Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.

This site is FREE! FREE to use, FREE to give. Just think of how much time you spend on the computer daily, you probably are on for at least an hour a day! If you spend TWO minutes each day on this site, you could provide a starving child with their meal for the day! This site is a great SAT prep tool too! :)

Our Young Old Teacher

Our online chemistry teacher, Shannon C'de Baca, is a young old lady. What do I mean by that? Well, the best I can describe is that she is NOT your average cranky old teacher who thinks all children are pests and is glad she never was one. And believe me I’ve known plenty of those kind. She doesn’t believe in strict old ways of teaching either (obviously if she’s an online teacher). She cares about each student she teaches. That’s one of the problems with a lot of today’s teachers; they don’t care. I don’t know…. It’s just really hard to describe. She doesn’t seem or act as old as she really is (I don’t think she would appreciate me saying how old she is). I can’t say enough good things about her… and I’ve only met her once in person! This is a shout out to the teacher whose last name I can’t pronounce! Ms. C! We love you!

What is up with that rule? What about weird? Doesn't he feel lonely?!?! The english language is so weird...they have all of these different rules and exceptions to everything!! I think learning English as a second language would be so difficult! And it just keeps growing!! There's like 4x more words now then there were in Shakspeare's time. Some examples are; blog, internet, phone, photo, etc. It's CrAzY!!! And now we have TONS of ways to say everything! ex. good>not bad>great>unawful>awesome>wonderful>amazing>etc. <

Disturbed Sunbathing

I wrote a descriptive paragraph for English class that had a change of mood transition between paragraphs. I decided to share it!

I sigh as I lay myself down on the beautiful, crowded, Florida beach. There is a nice breeze coming from the south. It’s the perfect day for sunbathing on the white sand. I relax my legs, turn my hands palm up, and close my eyes. I'm welcoming the sun to whatever skin my swimsuit has left exposed, letting it wash over me. I feel a small wet drop splash on my face. It’s probably the salty, ocean spray...

I hear rustling all around me. People are leaving! I feel another splash on my face, then another, then another. Slightly annoyed from the people and the splashes for disturbing my peace I try to focus on the sun again. I find that I can't; I feel no warmth. Another splash lands on my lips. I taste it. The tiny splash does not taste salty like ocean water should. It tastes fresh, it tastes like... rain. Finally, I open my eyes. The sky is no longer sunny and the beach is nearly empty of people. Out of the corner of my eye I see cars in the parking lot driving away. Then, the downpour starts. I squeal, jump to my feet, and race to my car. By the time I get there I look like I've been swimming in the water rather than sunbathing. I open the car door, get in, and slam the door shut. I sit and stare for a moment and then groan. A perfect day completely ruined by the stupid weather. Well, I guess there will always be other sunny days.

The world is going places we don't want

Mad cow disease, bird flu, and e-coli! Well, we might as well starve! As of today I am officially a vegetarian. Not really. Although the other day I had veggie burgers for lunch and I hate to admit it but it tasted pretty darn good. Of course I'm going to get sick of beans, beans, beans all the time but oh well. Don't even get me started on the the stock market or global warming.....

Nevermind, too late. I already got myself started. I was chatting with some of my fellow classmates in my online chemistry course a couple weeks ago about global warming. Nearly everyone thought global warming doesn't exsist! "Isn't it just a theory?" NO!!! There is mountains of proof it exists. We are YEARS past proving it exists. Now we need to find how to at least slow it down if not stop it. I can't believe they thought it was JUST a theory. So to prove that it exists I recommended a documetary by Al Gore called "An Inconvenient Truth" and I gave them a couple of other websites. THEN they tried to discredit my evidence by saying "its kind of hypocritical for a guy who has his own private jet to be talking about global warming." First of all how would they know if he has his own private jet? Did they look it up? Doubtful. Second, did I say listen to Al Gore? NO. I said watch the documentary for PROOF that global warming exists. Just FACTS. Forget who is presenting it. I don't even think they looked at the websites I gave them. They just latched on to something political and held on for dear life. Global warming should NOT be a political subject. In the end the teacher sort of agreed with me. HA!

I think I'll save the stock market for another day. Maybe my "twin" will pick up on the topic.

I gotta Tell you guys the world is going somewhere we don't want it to go. I'm gonna miss it won't you?

I can't concentrate when....

I can't concentrate when there is a new book out in a series I like and I haven't read it yet. It’s especially bad if the previous book left on a cliffhanger. Something like, "His stooped figure came towards me with a knife in his hand. I always wondered how I would die..." What is that?! If the ending is like that, I throw the book down and stomp around my room huffing and puffing. Over the next couple months my foot bounces up and down in anticipation whenever I think about the series. Sometimes I get so angry that I say I hate the author for writing such and ending, but I really don’t. How can I hate them when they write such fantastic books? Finally the book is out and I beg my mom to take me to the library. She doesn't object because she usually reads the same books I do and is as anxious as I am. After we get to the library I practically jump over the librarian’s desk to get to the reserved book. I walk out of the library my nose is stuck in the book. “I duck out of the way as he tries to attack me with a murderous look in his eyes…”
